Psalm 10 David’s eyes and heart are open to the plight of the helpless. His prayer is first a complaint to God about the situation and then a call to action. “Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless.”
Lamentations 5 Jeremiah concludes his poetic lament with a prayer. He reminds God of the desperate situation God’s people are in. He acknowledges yet again that they are suffering because of their own sin. He affirms that God is still on His throne and pleads with Him for restoration.
