Jeremiah 20–In this passage we see the emotional ups and downs that Jeremiah experiences as he analyzes what has befallen him as he obeys God’s call. The reality is that in the end, Jeremiah’s opponents won’t prevail; God will triumph. We should remind each other of that as well.
Psalm 10 David’s eyes and heart are open to the plight of the helpless. His prayer is first a complaint to God about the situation and then a call to action. “Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless.”
Psalm 6 Alone at night and in deep despair and anguish, David cries out to God. He confesses his hope that God not only hears his pleas for help, but that help is on the way.
