CHRIST AND THE MINISTRY OF MERCY

Luke 5:12-16

In this final sermon in our “Foundations” series, Pastor Mark preaches on how belief in the Gospel inspires social concern in our world.  In the text, we see how Christ lived out this ministry of mercy.  In this account of Jesus healing the man with leprosy, we see the desperate nature of the concern: Leprosy represented utter hopelessness, as well as social isolation/humiliation.  We also see the compassionate nature of Jesus:  He empathizes with those suffering, and He engages to alleviate that suffering.  Pastor Mark challenges us, as believers, to live this out in real practical ways in our lives.
